La Direttiva RED (Radio Equipment Directive) 2014/53/UE, che sostituisce la Direttiva R&TTE (Radio and Telecommunications Terminal Equipment) 1999/5/CE, è applicabile dal 13 giugno 2016 per regolamentare le apparecchiature radio al fine di apporre la Marcatura CE.

Date ufficiali e periodo di transizione
I prodotti Radio conformi ai requisiti essenziali di tale Direttiva potranno essere commercializzati liberamente all’interno dell’Unione Europea.

La direttiva RED è stata pubblicata sulla Gazzetta Ufficiale dell’Unione Europea il 22 maggio 2014.
Gli stati membri recepiranno la direttiva entro il 12 giugno 2016 con un periodo di transizione di un anno (13 Giugno 2017) per adeguarsi alla nuova direttiva.

Disposizioni transitorie
Per quanto riguarda gli aspetti contemplati dalla presente direttiva, gli Stati membri non ostacolano la messa a disposizione sul mercato o la messa in servizio delle apparecchiature radio oggetto della presente direttiva che sono conformi alla legislazione dell'Unione in materia applicabile anteriormente al 13 giugno 2016 e sono state immesse sul mercato anteriormente al 13 giugno 2017.

Recepimento
Gli Stati membri adottano e pubblicano, entro il 12 giugno 2016, le disposizioni legislative, regolamentari e amministrative necessarie per conformarsi alla presente direttiva.
Essi comunicano immediatamente alla Commissione il testo di tali disposizioni. Essi applicano tali disposizioni a decorrere dal 13 giugno 2016.

Abrogazione
La direttiva 1999/5/CE è abrogata a decorrere dal 13 giugno 2016.
