Objective of the consultation
The Energy Union Communication commits us to developing a comprehensive LNG and storage strategy that will explore the full potential of LNG and gas storage in the mid- to long-term, and to identifying how LNG and gas storage can enhance security and competitiveness of supply in the EU, in particular through diversification of sources, in normal and crisis situations alike. The strategy will look at both the internal EU dimension and international issues.

The objective of this consultation is to ask stakeholders for their views on the challenges and opportunities they see for LNG and gas storage in the EU and how these might boost security of supply, competitiveness and sustainability. We will also seek the views of stakeholders as to where the EU could play a role and which potential actions the EU could envisage in order to achieve these goals.
