This Mission Solutions Explorer brings together 100 examples from across the EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change. Behind every factsheet lies a real experience: a challenge identified, a partnership built, a solution tested and a valuable lesson learned. Some initiatives are large, others more modest.

Some rely on nature, others on technology, governance or finance. Together, they show that there is no single pathway to climate resilience, but rather a growing portfolio of practical solutions that can inspire action in territories facing similar climate hazards. The Solutions Explorer has one simple ambition: to help others move from inspiration to implementation.

It is not a technical manual or a comprehensive inventory of adaptation measures. Instead, it offers accessible examples that regions, cities and communities can adapt to their own circumstances. Each factsheet highlights not only the solution itself, but also its co-benefits, funding opportunities, key stakeholders and lessons for replication.

This publication is also an important milestone in a much broader journey. From October 2026, it will become part of the European Integrated Framework for Climate Resilience, alongside the Climate Viewer and the Navigator of Tools. Together, these resources will help decision-makers better understand climate risks, identify suitable adaptation measures and access the knowledge and tools needed to strengthen resilience across Europe.
