Best practices for planning and construction of thermal networks

This study aims at gathering experiences and identifying best practices in both the urban planning and construction phases for thermal networks (district heating) in the built environment.

The lessons learned should help local governments and new potential district heating operators in developing new thermal networks or accelerating the expansion of existing networks. The results of this study are based on eight case studies of thermal networks in existing residential and service sector neighbourhoods, since 2015. These cases are geographically spread over the EU, and cover a variety of heating technologies.
